Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) was declared a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 in the year 2008. Since its inception, CARE has been making significant contributions to society as a premier institution for higher learning and research, particularly in the fields of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing.
The University offers 100+academic programmes across the Faculties of Medicine, Nursing , Allied Health Care Courses , Architecture, Law, Engineering and Management . Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) at Chettinad Physiotherapy College is a 4-year undergraduate course followed by a 1-year compulsory internship designed to build a strong foundation in rehabilitative medicine. The curriculum emphasizes extensive hands-on training across core areas such as Exercise Therapy, Electrotherapy, Radiology & Imaging Technology, Orthopaedics & Traumatology, and General Medicine. The program focuses on developing advanced physiotherapeutic competencies, including therapeutic exercises and electro-physical modalities, enabling students to effectively manage and treat conditions affecting the spine, neck, shoulder, and lower limbs.
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) curriculum is an eight-semester, four-year undergraduate program with a mandatory one-year internship. Occupational therapy is a highly sought-after healthcare profession that focuses on assessment and therapeutic intervention to support people, groups, and communities in their recovery, development, or maintenance of meaningful daily activities through organized therapy, exercises, and intentional activities.

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) programme is an industry-aligned undergraduate course designed to prepare students for careers in pharmaceutical sciences. The programme covers key areas such as pharmacology, drug formulation, medicinal chemistry, and clinical research, combining scientific knowledge with practical training.
Graduates gain the skills to work in drug manufacturing, quality control, research, hospital pharmacies, and regulatory sectors, ensuring patient-centred pharmaceutical care.
The MBBS programme is a 4½-year academic course followed by 1 year compulsory rotating internship. It follows NMC's Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. Students undergo phased training in pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines. Early clinical exposure and skill-based simulation learning are integrated. Research methodology and ethics are embedded throughout the programme.
The B.Sc Nursing programme is a 4-year professional degree including hospital and community postings. It covers medical-surgical nursing, paediatrics, OBG nursing, psychiatric nursing and community health nursing. Clinical skill labs and simulation training are integrated. Research project and internship are mandatory. Graduates are eligible for registration under INC/TNNMC.
